Group Antolin improves the sustainability of its headquarters

Grupo Antolin, SERNAUTO's member, has installed a new photovoltaic facility at its Burgos headquarters. The facility will generate renewable electricity to meet the building's energy needs. Antolin thus advances in its plans to turn the headquarters into a sustainable building.

The solar photovoltaic facility has a power of 500 kilowatts and a generating capacity of 698,400 kilowatt-hours per year, representing 18.36% of the expected energy consumption this year. Located above the building, it occupies a total area of 2,764 square meters.

With this project, photovoltaic energy production at Antolin’s headquarters increases to 1,249,976 kilowatt-hours per year, 33% of the power consumption of the headquarters for one year. This photovoltaic facility will avoid the emission of 188.57 tons of CO2 per year.

Antolin opened its first photovoltaic facility at its headquarters in 2007. Currently, one third of the energy consumed in the building comes from totally renewable sources. The two facilities have been developed by the Burgos company Abasol.

In the last four years, the company has carried out a plan to improve the energy efficiency of the headquarters with the aim of turning it into a totally environmentally friendly building.  This plan has enabled significant energy savings and reduced CO2 emissions. Improvements include the use of LED technology in the lighting system and the reuse of water in cooling towers. A heat recovery system has also been installed to improve office air conditioning.

This project is part of the Group Antolin's environmental commitment to contribute to the fight against climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy, as highlighted by its Sustainability Master Plan.
