Ficosa joins the Responsible Business Commission of SERNAUTO

Sustainability is one of the fundamental parts of the company, which is aligned with the Global Compact of the United Nations since 2002 and committed to sectoral progress through its adherence to the Responsible Business Commission of SERNAUTO.

Ficosa incorporates the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its corporate strategy, contributing to them through its policies, processes, operations and innovative solutions: 

1. SDG 3 (Ensuring a healthy life): Ficosa leads advanced technologies for connected cars and autonomous vehicles, focusing on safety and reducing traffic accidents globally. Ficosa’s Advanced Communication Systems and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) improve safety, connectivity and energy efficiency, including: 
   • Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS). 
   • Children Presence Detection (CPD). 
   • Camera Monitoring System (CMS). 
2. SDG 8 (Decent work and economic growth): Ficosa promotes a safe and inclusive work environment for its diverse global team of more than 8,500 employees, complying with SDG 8 to promote economic growth and decent working conditions. 
3. SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production): Ficosa promotes waste reduction and responsible use of resources in its manufacturing process, aligning with SDG 12 to promote sustainable consumption and production practices by promoting Ecodesign concepts. 
4. SDG 13 (Combating climate change): Investing in research and development, Ficosa contributes to emissions reduction and integration of renewable energies through technologies for electric vehicles, such as Battery Management Systems and Onboard Chargers. In addition, the emission reduction targets were validated by the SBTi (Science Based Target) initiative in February 2023, and the company aims to reduce 100% of scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. 
5. SDG 16 (Peaceful and inclusive societies): Ficosa promotes diversity, equity and integrity. The company implements supply chain due diligence, ensuring suppliers share company values and respect human rights.
