SERNAUTO unveils the 2020 International Promotion Plan for Spanish Automotive Suppliers

The Spanish Association of Automotive Suppliers (SERNAUTO) has just launched its International Promotion Plan for 2020, that through different trade tools will allow to harness globalization and create new business opportunities for the Spanish automotive equipment and components suppliers.

With the aim of achieving maximum recognition of 'Components made in Spain' brand in key markets, consolidate traditional ones and boost the Spanish presence worldwide, SERNAUTO, as an entity recognized by ICEX Spain Export and Investment, establishes an annual action plan available for the sector companies.

Among the initiatives for this edition, one of the most noteworthy is the organization of  Spanish Pavilions in the “must-be” automotive fairs overseas such as Automechanika Istanbul (Turkey), Automechanika Dubai (UAE), Automechanika Frankfurt, IAA Hannover, IZB Wolfsburg (Germany), AAPEX (USA) and Automechanika Shanghai (China).

In the context of the EU-Africa Alliance, partnership for revitalizing the European policies in the region, and reinforced by the collaboration based on FTAs, a Spanish Trade Delegation will be organized to South Africa, the biggest economy in the continent and the entry platform for the sub- Saharan African countries, with the aim of maximizing the potential of economic and trade integration across the region. This is the most relevant market for the automotive business, not only in terms of vehicle production but also in terms of “vehicles in use”.

In addition, the plan also includes a business delegation to Morocco, Spain´s second biggest trading partner, after the EU, with the aim to build partnerships, achieve collaboration agreements and take advantage of the potential for increased synergies with regional and local partners.

On the other hand, the promotion in foreign markets of the digital platform 'Autoparts from Spain' remains a priority, through the implementation of several digital marketing campaigns, aimed at raising awareness of Spanish supply 

As Mª Begoña Llamazares - SERNAUTO Market Segment Head - explains, "following the path of SERNAUTO's Foreign Trade Commission, an international trade strategic plan has been agreed with a double objective: strengthening trading relations and diversity of export destinations, as well as boosting strategic investment. The Spain Brand should contribute to gradually grow into new markets and maintain real competitive edges for the Spanish manufacturers in foreign markets”

In addition, she continues, "this edition is directly focused on stressing the wide range of technologically advanced products of Spanish suppliers in both supply chain and aftermarket, as well as passenger cars and commercial vehicles. This is the reason we will carry out actions in three of the most outstanding worldwide fairs for aftermarket, industrial vehicles and supply chain, in order to support our companies on their path towards internationalization”.

Besides, "the Association reaffirms its commitment to develop new business opportunities for the Spanish automotive manufacturers in emerging markets, such as South Africa and Morocco, the main economies in the African continent. Among the objectives are to underline the powerful brand identity “quality, passion & technology” of the Spanish automotive industry and reinforce the trade relations and investments of the sector in these markets."

First edition of international platform "Autoparts from Spain" 

The first year of “AutopartsfromSpain” has closed with a very positive market performance, a success enjoyed by the umbrella name Autoparts, under which name the Spanish suppliers have undertaken a brand digital strategy in the international arena, mainly in France and Germany.

In accordance with the figures achieved, such as more than 28,000 visits to the platform, more than 4.9M impacts in both markets and 2M impacts on social networks with the hashtag #AutopartsFromSpain, these results reinforce the Spanish position as an automotive reference country in foreign markets, based on the solid efficiency, productivity and innovation of our industry.
